Gresini

It was in the air and it's now official: Gresini Racing will use Ducatis from next year in MotoGP. The two drivers will be Fabio Di Giannantonio and Enea Bastianini.

From next year, after 7 years alongside Aprilia Racing, the Gresini Racing team will once again be an independent MotoGP team and will field Ducati motorcycles. It’s a future strongly supported by Fausto’s family, who have created a brand new project linked to the Borgo Panigale builder for the next two seasons.

The Gresini team will once again be able to manage its participation in the premier category on its own, with an entirely Italian team made up of Fabio DiGiannantonio et Enea Bastianini : Two very young drivers but already very linked to Fausto and Gresini Racing.

Nadia Padovani, Owner and Team Principal of Gresini Racing: “It’s a very moving moment for all of us. Over the past few months, our commitment has been coupled with a strong emotional motivation to shape the future of Gresini Racing. Being able to announce it now fills us with pride and satisfaction. It is a project that was born in continuity and is based on the values with which Fausto built this wonderful company. My thanks go first of all to Carmelo Ezpeleta who never left us alone during these months, to Ducati for his confidence in our projects, to Flex-Box who became the title sponsor and obviously to Fabio and Enea… I am sure that they will give everything to keep the name of Gresini Racing high. »

Gigi Dall'Igna, General Manager of Ducati Corse: “ We are really happy to have reached this agreement with Gresini Racing for the next two seasons in MotoGP. Towards the end of last year, we had already outlined the basis of a possible agreement with Fausto and we would like to thank his family from the bottom of our hearts for wanting to continue this project with us. Gresini Racing has been an important player in MotoGP for many years now and we are confident that this partnership, which will feature two very talented riders like Enea and Fabio, will be very satisfying for all parties involved. »

Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO Dorna Sports: “ First of all, it is a pleasure to continue working with Gresini Racing as an independent team. I know how much Fausto cared about this project and I'm sure he would be very proud of it now. I had the opportunity to speak to Nadia in recent weeks and I see in her, her children and the entire team, the determination and passion for this sport that characterized it so much. We are very happy that Gresini Racing will be with us in the premier category for at least the next five seasons. »
