The pilot Suzuki had first negotiated with Gresini, who offered him a bike from the previous year, a GP22, without factory support, a proposal which did not convince the Catalan. For this reason, and in the absence of official confirmation from the team, he reached an agreement with Honda who will provide this support. The Spanish driver will play in this capacity next season in Team LCR, replacingAlex Marquez which for its part fully subscribed to the aforementioned Gresini plan.
It will be a real challenge for Kidneys which will go from the in-line four-cylinder put into a Suzuki from a good level to a V4 propelling a Honda looking like a crazy horse.
