The MotoGP rider market is over, all that's missing is the official announcement ofAugusto Fernandez at Tech3. KTM still counts on the young talent of Aki Ajo's team, but will accompany it with an experienced rider like Pol Espargaro. On the other hand, much remains to be defined in the market for technicians and executives. In the Aragón paddock, we learned that Gino Borsoi will be the team manager of Pramac Racing from next year. After the farewell of Francesco Guidotti there have been Fonsi Nieto to partially cover his functions, but from the 2023 season instead it will be the former Veneto rider, currently sports director of the Aspar team.

Paolo Campinoti, boss of the Pramac team, chose a high-profile Italian figure for his box. His racing career began in 1996 with Aprilia. The same season he replaced Andrea Ballerini, but an accident during testing for the Catalan GP forced him out of championship races due to a fracture of three vertebrae. The following year, he signed his first contract as a regular driver and, in eight seasons in the 125 category, he achieved one pole position and three podiums, for a total of 126 GPs. For over fifteen years, he has worked with Jorge Aspar Martinez in management roles which allowed him to gain valuable experience. “ For now, we are thinking about the project Aspar,” commented Borsoi during the first day of free testing in Aragón.

The MotoGP technician market
Behind the scenes, we also work on the MotoGP technician market. During the weekend in Misano, the imminent departure ofAlberto Giribuola at Ducati made headlines. The chief technicianEnea Bastianini will play a central role at KTM, where he will join Fabiano Sterlacchini (former technical director of Ducati) for the development of the RC16. He will meet another ex Pramac Racing there, Francesco Guidotti, and Cristian Pupulin, the team leader of Jack Miller, which will follow the Australian rider in his new KTM adventure.

On the Aprilia side, Manuel Cazeaux, team leader of Alex Rins, arrives, he will not be able to follow the Spaniard at Honda and will join Maverick Vinales from 2023. After the farewells ofAndrea Dovizioso at MotoGP, its chief mechanic Ramón Forcada was also left on the sidelines, waiting for a good offer for the next World Championship. On the other hand, for the Catalan technician, it will be time to say goodbye to the premier category paddock.
