It is from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, that the Monster Energy Yamaha team MotoGP presented the 2025 livery of the Yamaha YZR-M1 of Fabio Quartararo and Alex Rins, as well as its organization for the season which is beginning.
At the same time, the official website of the Yamaha team has published the traditional studio photos that are the pride of Yamaha Motor Co. (Y.M.C.) et Yamaha Motor Racing Ltd. (YMR).
The 2025 Mid-Term Plan highlights the importance of “joint leadership” and global talent to ensure the best resources are available while addressing challenges and seizing opportunities with Yamaha’s “Spirit of Challenge” mindset. The Mid-Term Plan is designed to foster bike development, cultivate talent and ultimately strengthen Yamaha’s MotoGP performance through increased synergies between all parties involved, creating a shared vision of the “Blue Shift.”
In the future, Yamaha Motor Company’s Motor Sports division and Yamaha Motor Racing will share responsibility for Yamaha’s MotoGP project, including technical development, strengthening their synergies to ensure a closer working relationship between the two entities. This strategy also ensures close collaboration between Yamaha and new key player Pramac Racing.
The key value of “joint leadership” is reflected in the organizational structure of Yamaha Motor Racing: in 2025, the president Takahiro Sumi and the general manager Paolo Pavesio will be at the helm of Yamaha Motor Racing. As for on-track operations, Sumi-san and Pavesio will oversee the work of the project manager Kazuhiro Masuda, who in turn will work closely with the Technical Director Max Bartolini and Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team Principal, Mayo Meregalli.
As for the assistance, carried out at the headquarters of Gerno di Lesmo, Paolo Pavesio will lead the Sport Manager Mayo Meregalli, the Engineering Manager Michele Gadda and the Marketing and Communications Manager William Favero, with the valuable assistance of the Senior Advisor Lynn Jarvis.
The Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team is once again represented by the Team Director Mayo Meregalli and the drivers fabio quartararo et Alex Rins, while the team presents Paolo Pavesio as the new Team Principal this year.
Both MotoGP teams will occasionally be joined on track by the Yamaha Factory Racing MotoGP Test Team, comprising the Team Manager Kazutoshi Seki and pilots Augusto Fernandez et Cal Crutchlow. However, since Crutchlow is unable to perform his tests, Andrea Dovizioso will offer its experience and services to help in the development of the YZR-M1.
