The 2025 MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 World Championship season promises to be spectacular, and it all starts with a strategically designed testing schedule to allow teams to fine-tune their machines and riders to prepare for new challenges.
MotoGP pre-season kicks off with the Shakedown Test from February 1st to 3rd on the Sepang circuit, Malaysia. This meeting is reserved for beginners and test drivers, offering manufacturers an initial assessment of the technical developments on their prototypes. A key step to validate the concepts before regular drivers enter the scene.
Du 7 at 9 February, all MotoGP riders will meet at Sepang for the first Official Test. This comprehensive test will allow us to analyze the performance of the new motorcycles on this demanding circuit, renowned for testing both engine power and aerodynamic capabilities.
The calendar continues at the Losail International Circuit, Qatar, for a second official test of the February 29 to March 2. In unique night conditions, the teams will fine-tune the final settings before the start of the season, with Losail also among the championship stops.
Moto2 and Moto3 will travel less but test as much as MotoGP
The categories Moto2 and Moto3 will start their pre-season at the Jerez circuit – Angel Nieto February 19 to 21. Jerez, with its technical curves and short straights, is the ideal place to adjust bike setups and offer new riders a demanding technical environment.
The tests will then move to the circuit of Portimão, in Portugal, from February 27 to 29. Known for its relief and fast turns, Portimão will put the suspensions and the drivers' abilities to handle a complex and dynamic track to the test.
The 2025 testing calendar reflects the balance between technical analysis and real-world racing conditions. For MotoGP, the circuits of Sepang et losail offer diverse environments to test machines in a variety of situations. On the Moto2 and Moto3 side, traditional European tracks promote the learning and development of young talents.
