It's an idea that always hovers over the heads of the drivers who, nevertheless, win. By making this concrete, they show that they have the right recipe, but as it is said that to conquer without danger, one triumphs without glory, we ask that they question themselves, a way of convincing themselves that they are good the best. A risky bet, because there is another adage which says that the best is the enemy of the good... Concerning Marc Márquez, the legend Agostini and his chief mechanic Santi Hernández urge, for their part, not to change anything...

Marc Márquez is undoubtedly the current boss of MotoGP. At 27, he claims eight world titles, including six in a premier category that he dominated since his arrival in 2013. He has 134 podiums, 90 pole positions, 82 victories and 72 fastest laps, collected in 205 races. And yet, some would like to see him on a motorcycle other than the Honda or that he changes his approach to prove even more that he is the phenomenon we see today.

A questioning that others advise against. So, on the change of manufacturer, Giacomo Agostini comments: “ I don't think Marc has the need, as some say, to change bikes, to move to another brand, to prove his worth. We all know he's the best and we all know he would win with any other bike », assures the winner of 15 world motorcycle titles.

« No one can say, although I have heard it said on more than one occasion, that Marc wins because he has the Honda. No, it's not Honda that wins, it's Marc's wrist twisting the throttle that makes it win. And, I insist, we all know he could win with many other bikes »Ago finishes.

“Anything other than victory is disaster”

And his attacking style then? Why not give yourself more peace of mind by sometimes letting go? Especially with this 2020 season which promises to be so special… Its chief mechanic Santi Hernández answers : " you still suffer a lot with Marc. We haven't talked about this championship yet, but he learned from his mistakes. The most important thing is to keep your DNA, be ambitious and give 100%. This mentality must not change. It is essential to be consistent, especially in a championship with these characteristics. In the first race there will be many surprises, I think Marc must do what he always does, without changing his DNA. »

He adds : " When you're with a driver like Márquez, just like when you play in a big football team, anything other than winning is a disaster. It doesn't change for us whether there are 20 races or 12. We have pressure every year and Marc is the world champion. This is why the mentality goals don't change: we run to win. » And so far, success has been at the end of the road.
