The director of the Repsol Honda team takes stock of the Battle of Britain which took place under the seal of a British Grand Prix, the twelfth of the nineteen games of the season. The field of confrontation that was Silverstone was not that of victory for its driver Marc Márquez. Nevertheless, the latter carried out an excellent operation in the championship while Jorge Lorenzo made his return. Honor is therefore more than safe and it is already time to think about what comes next...

Until the end, Alberto puig, the team manager of Repsol Honda, hoped for a new victory for his protégé Marc Márquez, but on the wire, it's Alex Rins, official Suzuki, who won the bet. Meanwhile, his teammate Jorge Lorenzo returned to the competition with a 14th place, after a two-month break.

Puig said he was satisfied with his English meeting. Looking back, he explains: “ our strategy was to achieve the best possible result without taking unnecessary risks. Overall, the weekend was positive. Jorge is back, which is very important for us. The weekend was not easy, as he was away for a long time, but he is back on his bike and he was able to achieve his goal of finishing the race. »

« Marc was still fighting for victory. Although he had tire problems, he was able to fight until the end and achieve an important result for the championship in the end. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to get the victory, but his tire was no longer in good condition for the duel “, continued the team manager, specifying: “ we are really happy, because we were able to increase our lead in the championship. That's why we leave with a good feeling. »

The Spaniard continued: “ Fortunately, there is nothing negative to say about the race. Overall we are very happy. It was a very interesting race and Rins did a fantastic job. He fought with Marc and we can only congratulate him for this race. I think it was a very good show for us, the spectators, who were lucky enough to experience the event in good weather. Unfortunately, Dovizioso and Quartararo crashed early in the race, otherwise it would have been even more exciting. We hope that both drivers are well and will participate in the next race in Misano. »

But first, there will be tests on Thursday and Friday on the “Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli” circuit: “ this will be an important test that we will carry out before the race on September 15th. We want to try new pieces for the rest of the season, but also for next year. This allows engineers to make final adjustments and complete the plan for the future. We have a few very interesting days ahead of us " finished Puig.
