Alberto Puig begins his second season as boss of the Honda troops on the MotoGP field. A job that was promised to be more complicated this year with the arrival of Jorge Lorenzo alongside Marc Márquez. A duo qualified as a “dream team”, ready to take part in the legendary duels between teammates who have left their mark on motor sports. He would therefore have to keep an eye on things. A Honda is complicated to drive. This is the dominant message that is distilled in MotoGP, but with a paradox: the one who won four of the first seven races of this season has one, and his name is Marc Márquez, solid leader of the championship from Catalonia. So if there are always things to improve, we must also take into account that this Honda is capable of the best.

And it is first of all on this observation that is based Alberto puig : " there is a rider who wins almost every weekend on this bike, so there is nothing left to say. Other owners of this motorcycle can complain as they wish » comments the always direct Spaniard. He even insists: “ if you come to us and you have this motorcycle, all you have to do is shut up and run with it ". He ends his demonstration thus: “ and if you asked me if I think Márquez is the #1 driver at the moment, my answer would be yes ».

The message is not sent to the general public. He addresses the latest comer, Jorge Lorenzo, who embarked on the same perilous adventure with Honda as with the one experienced not without pitfalls at Ducati. But among the Italians, Por Fuera's stubbornness finally paid off. Even late. So we are satisfied with what we did during the winter, but we obviously will not stop evolving ».
