If he is a character who evolves in the first circle of relationships of Valentino Rossi, it's good Alberto Tebaldi. The man is essential when we talk about the VR46 structure, and he is also the memory of everything that was put in place under this acronym by the Doctor. In a recent interview, he returned to the founding of a young VR46 Academy which, however, has already given Italy two Grand Prix World Champions. A happiness that was born from a tragedy.

The VR46 Academy only dates back to March 2014. And yet it can boast of having two Moto2 World Champions among its ranks. Franco Morbidelli and in 2017 Pecco Bagnaia the following year and what's more within the team which is also in history VR46 were crowned. The duo is now in MotoGP in conditions so favorable that they suggest an interesting continuation of their respective careers.

The idea of Vale therefore gained ground. But it came from a tragedy which upset the man to whom the succession of Italian motorcycles owes a lot. And this heartbreak finds its source in the disappearance of Marco Simoncelli, during the Malaysian Grand Prix.

Tebaldi explain : " Vale and Marco spent a lot of time together, training and having fun. Marco was the only one who was able to look Vale in the eyes. They were like brothers and when Marco left, Vale was lost. So one or two years later, Vale decided on a major project ».

And this big project was the VR46 Academy. Tebaldi ends on GP One : " sometimes life is very cruel, but it also causes destinies. Marco brought this project to life ».
