The former Repsol Honda rider spoke about the break suffered due to coronavirus and the resumption of the season.

First Spanish World Champion in the premier category in History, Alex Crivillé has now retired for several years, but has not left the world of Grand Prix racing since he comments on races for DAZN and provides reports after each GP for the Spanish site Marca.

It is precisely with the latter that he spoke, live on social networks, about what is currently happening as well as those they consider to be the favorites when the season can finally resume. “We are waiting for this hell to pass, like everyone else”, he explained, before focusing on the World Cup: “For the World Championship to be validated, at least 13 races must be contested but no one knows what will happen, everyone is disconcerted. »

“I speak with people from the paddock and I believe that if it could start in Barcelona (in June), it would already be a success, or move Jerez to the end of the year... If we can do 13 or 14 races they will sign, even whether they would like the 19 to take place. »

Speculation is rife, but currently Grand Prix leaders are unable to provide a start date, with the epidemic still at its peak in the majority of affected countries. While waiting to once again be able to admire the prowess of the drivers on the track, bets on the favorites still remain possible, and for his part, the former Honda driver sees the reigning World Champion difficult to beat even if the opponents will indeed be clearly present:

“The one I saw strong during the tests and who is capable of putting Márquez in difficulty is Viñales, given his pre-season times. This is the one that can annoy him the most. There is also Quartararo, obviously, and Rins with the Suzuki is also competitive, but in the end Márquez will arrive completely recovered from his operated shoulder. When he is at 100% I fear he will be very difficult to beat. »
