A true spearhead of Honda throughout his MotoGP career, Marc Márquez could well see his younger brother arrive in the premier category in 2021 on a Yamaha in Petronas colors.

The hypothesis is all the more surprising since Lin Jarvis had already shown reluctance on this subject in September last year by declaring “Having one brother on our team when the other brother is with our opponents makes no sense”, thus confirming the conviction of Marc Márquez which “the Márquez family is not welcome at Yamaha. Lin Jarvis personally told me that a Márquez will never see a Yamaha.

And yet… You should never say never!

Indeed, during the Czech Republic Grand Prix weekend, Emilio Alzamora, manager of the two Márquez brothers, pushed hard to place the younger brother in Moto2 in the Malaysian structure, obviously with the objective of moving to MotoGP in 2021 and leaving the Marc VDS team where Sam Lowes will more than likely make its debut next year.

According to our cross-checked information, if nothing is yet official, the matter would already be recorded, just like the fact that the team led by Razlan Razali finally obtained a 2nd place in Moto2 for 2020, incidentally by buying that of the Kiefer Racing team which will pack up at the end of this season.

The arrival ofAlex Marquez at Petronas next year would not complete the casting however, since Khairul Idham Pawi, current holder of the Malaysian team in Moto2, injured since Jerez and replaced several times since then, could return to Moto3 next year.

There would therefore remain a second seat to be filled in this very attractive team due to the royal road that it presents up to the MotoGP category.

Obviously, the arrival ofAlex Marquez would put pressure on a certain Franco Morbidelli… Unless his young French teammate flies to the Factory team, which we can only wish for him!
