The situation is critical for Alex Rins. Clearly, the official Yamaha rider will not be in MotoGP Next year, because all doors seem to have closed for him. He's simply reaching the end of his journey, much like Miguel Oliveira at the end of 2025, or Jack Miller currently. But unlike the two aforementioned drivers, Rins doesn't give the impression of wanting to continue longer in another category. In interviews, he appears tired, worn down by these years of hardship and inconsistent results. His assessment after the Sachsenring was unequivocal.
Alex Rins is no longer there, he's no longer looking ahead. After the German Grand Prix, he struggled to find the words. « If I could do it again, I would try to attack more in the middle of the peloton to stay with MorbidelliI was very careful with my tires, thinking about the end of the race, and in the end, they were worn out too. I could at least have stayed with him. There's not much else to say. » he had declared following this Grand Prix, in which he had finished 14th.
Worse still, he seems without a solution, without hope. "All we can do is survive." he added. A cold, icy observation that doesn't bode well for what's to come. Indeed, the season is still long; we're only halfway through. Yet, Rins still has to perform on the overseas tour, which is always very busy, and which often leaves pilots stranded.
So far, his campaign has been more than disappointing: Rins does not existHe currently sits 19th in the overall standings, but still ahead of Jack Miller by 21 points to 19. He was quite impressive in some practice sessions, but once the level rises in Q2, it becomes much more difficult. His best result is a 9th place finish, achieved on Sunday in the Netherlands.
