We know the problem of the Sachsenring circuit, the shortest circuit of the season which has 10 left turns compared to only three right: from turn #4, it's left, left, left, left, left, left, left, then a right with a slight slope in the famous Waterfall which gave us some memorable flights!

To resolve both the stress inflicted on the left side of the tires, but also the lack of temperature on the right side, Michelin provides, as in 2019, and for the first time this year, an allocation composed of entirely asymmetrical slicks, with a harder rubber on the left side, whether soft, medium or hard, front and rear!

In eastern Germany, near Dresden and Leipzig, weather conditions can be cool and humid, even in early summer. Rain tires are available in Soft and Medium for the front and rear. Only the rears are asymmetrical with a harder left side.

Piero Taramasso, Two-Wheel Manager at Michelin Motorsport, said: “After a difficult weekend in Catalonia with a slippery track, we will face other challenges in Germany with this very specific circuit, very short with only three right turns, which requires a very specific tire allocation. Our engineers will take up this challenge and offer drivers everything they need to give their best throughout the weekend. »

“Another particularity of this German meeting is the absence of spectators. After welcoming 25 fans into the stands at Barcelona, we return to a Grand Prix behind closed doors. We hope that everything will return to normal soon and that spectators will once again be able to come and applaud their heroes on all the circuits around the world. »
