Enea Bastianini

Enea Bastianini is the only rider on the MotoGP grid this season to be able to boast three successes. But he also has three retirements, including two consecutive falls during the last two meetings. And he doesn't hide the fact that this series undermines him because it is the consequence of a more serious illness: a loss of confidence in his Ducati GP21. The third in the championship will therefore play big this weekend on the Sachsenring which hosts the German Grand Prix. Especially since while he is kneeling on the ground, his rookie teammate Fabio Di Giannantonio is attacking him...

That being said, if Enea Bastianini believes in the law of series, he can be optimistic about the outcome of this Grand Prix. Indeed, since the start of this season, the pilot Gresini wins, then has two depressing meetings before returning to victory. And it’s good that the Sachsenring arrives since his last success dates back to Le Mans… The fact remains that, until then, the Teutonic site has never been his cup of tea: last year, he finished 16th on the long 3,671 km track. He also has two third places in Saxony to his name, obtained during the Moto3 years 2015 and 2016.

« Last year in Germany I wasn't as competitive as I had hoped ", said bastianini who also took places of eighth, tenth and eleventh this season. “ This year, we are coming off a very disappointing race, so we are motivated to improve ". And then he admits this dismay: “ we want to regain that lost feeling with the front of the bike so we can fight at the front again ».

Enea Bastianini: “ it will be difficult«

The pilot Ducati 24-year-old from Rimini then underlined: “ Sachsenring is not one of my favorite circuits, but if we can get the bike back on track we can have fun. It will be a difficult step ". And even more so as his teammate gains strength. Fabio DiGiannantonio won his first pole MotoGP at Mugello. In the race, the rookie finished eleventh, his best result to date in the premier category. In Barcelona, the Italian abandoned the race after only six laps, but he had stopped bastianini out of Q2 and was registered on the first two rows.

« The objective for the next two races is clear: we must take additional steps compared to the last outings » said DiGia. “ I really like the Sachsenring, I was always very fast there. It's counterclockwise, I know how to turn left », joked the player 23 years. “ This is a big advantage for me ". We will therefore expect a new exploit from the one who was spotted very early on by the late Fausto.
