Very fast from yesterday's first free practice sessions on the Ducati Desmosedici GP22, below the track record and directly into Q2 after FP3 (P8, 1'20.133), Luca marini continued his momentum in qualifying by achieving 1'20.168 in the last 15 minutes of the session.

A time which is only two tenths from the pole position of Francis Bagnaia (1'19.931) and confirms the clearly upward curve that the Mooney VR46 Racing Team driver has been following for three Grands Prix now.

Luca marini will start from the third row, in seventh position, but, far from being euphoric, remains measured and does not hide the areas where he can still progress. A beautiful and studious attitude which will perhaps allow Valentino Rossi's brother to score his fourth consecutive result in the Top 10 tomorrow...

Luca marini : " The third row in qualifying is not bad even if with the rise in temperatures today I had a lot more difficulty. I tried the medium at the front in FP3 and I didn't feel comfortable, I then preferred the hard in FP4 and the feeling was better. We still have some room, I would like to be faster and we can also work on the pace of the race. In qualifying I gave my best, but I wasn't able to put all the pieces together and put in a perfect lap. With the soft at the back I felt good, but in the long run I lose confidence to be able to fight with the very first guys. »

Paul Grandson : " I'm happy: both drivers are in Q2 and the session was overall more than positive. The third and fourth rows are good positions, but the first two rows were also close to our potential today. Luca and Marco are progressing race after race, the team is working very well and the results are starting to be solid too. Tomorrow will be a very difficult GP, the key will be the start and the very first laps. We continue to stay focused. »
