Having barely stepped off his Ducati GP26 of the satellite Gresini Racing team after finishing 2nd in the Sprint of the German MotoGP Grand Prix at the Sachsenring circuit, Alex Marquez spoke in front of the cameras of the official website MotoGP.com with the certain joy of realizing his return to the forefront after his terrible accident in Catalonia...

🎤 Alex, what a magnificent race! The last six weeks have been particularly difficult since Barcelona, but this weekend you seem to have truly returned to your best form. You forced Marc to attack every lap. What does this second place mean to you?

Alex Marquez: “Yes, I gave it my all on every lap, on every corner. Honestly, I was mainly trying to hang on until the finish, because the rear of the bike was sliding a lot. Despite that, I think I had the best race I could today.”
Physically, I'm still not able to push at 100% for the entire race. I still have to stay in a bit of a safety mode. I'm not yet riding completely naturally because my body is still a little too stiff.
But overall, it was a very good race.
Finishing second behind Marc, right next to him until the end… In the last lap, I even eased off the gas slightly.
So I'm really very happy. This is the result I needed after my crash in Montmeló.
