The rain didn't slow down MotoGP World Championship leader Marc Marquez, who claimed his seventh pole position of the season at the Sachsenring. It was his 73rd MotoGP pole position, his 101st career pole, and his eighth at the German circuit, confirming his absolute dominance of the circuit.

The eight-time world champion and official Ducati signed this masterful lap in the pouring rain in 1'27.811. A pole snatched in a hard-fought battle, particularly in the face of the brilliant form of Johann zarco on the wetThe French driver, winner at Le Mans in the same conditions, finished second just 0,151 seconds behind the Ducati number 93, using medium tires, a bold strategy.

Marco Bezzecchi, riding the Aprilia RS-GP Factory, completed the front row with a solid third place, 0,421 seconds off the fastest time. This performance confirms his good form after his double podium MotoGP à Assen, and marks his 12th first row in the premier class.

The second line will be opened by Franco Morbidelli (Ducati GP24 of the VR46 Racing Team), who unfortunately crashed during his last attempt but came out unscathed. He will be joined by Peter Acosta (KTM Factory) and Alex Marquez (Ducati GP24 from Gresini Racing) who is riding injured.

On the third line, we will find Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha), seventh at 1,439 seconds, sharing the line with Fabio DiGiannantonio (Ducati GP25 of the VR46 Racing Team), which was the fastest in the dry, and Jack Miller (Yamaha Pramac), victim of a fall at the start of the session.

The fourth line will be occupied by Brad Binder (KTM Factory), tenth, followed by a Pecco Bagnaia uninspired, who failed to find the rhythm in qualifying, finishing 1,942 seconds behind his teammate Marc Marquez.

Q1 was fatal for several drivers, including Luca Marini (Honda Factory), who will start from 15th place, and the Aprilia test rider Lorenzo Savadori, 20rd.
