It's not quite a mission impossible yet, but let's say that the chances of winning the world title at the end of this season have diminished considerably for a Andrea Dovizioso who leaves without enthusiasm for his summer vacation. His last German Grand Prix ended with a modest seventh place, while his designated rival for the crown Marc Marquez scored another success. Worse, Dovi was only fourth at the forefront behind Petrucci, Baptist and Lorenzo. A disappointment that has a reason…

Andrea Dovizioso thought he was doing well by developing a unique strategy during the last German Grand Prix. But the initiative backfired and the expected positive effects ultimately turned out to be handicaps. On Motorsport, he explains : " I was too slow in two specific turns that we decided to negotiate gently so as not to wear out the tires. I thought I would have fresher tires than my opponents at the end of the race. But it didn't pay off, on the contrary ».

« Because in fact, I made a lot of effort to compensate elsewhere for what I lost in these two turns. I wasn't riding the bike properly, so in the end I couldn't give the same intensity. I lost more than I thought I would gain. When you don't drive perfectly, you lose more than when you have to deal with tire wear ».

A lesson on riding comfort learned before him by his teammate Jorge Lorenzo who, since feeling good on his Ducati, has found the front.
