During this MotoGP season, there is a fact that has been verified three times: It is not good to be a rider discovering a new bike. Johann Zarco at KTM is nostalgic for his Yamaha Tech3, Jorge Lorenzo at Honda still hopes to experience the same success as at Ducati, and Andrea Iannone is only a shadow of himself since he was on an Aprilia. But the latter believes that he is the one who has the most difficult task…

Andrea Iannone is not having a season that could be described as exciting in MotoGP. Highly awaited by the Aprilia troops who had just enlisted, they have been playing the anonymous part of the peloton ever since. After seven Grands Prix, he has half as many points as his teammate Aleix Espargaró who seems to be single-handedly defending Noale's house.

The same Joe the Maniac is seven steps behind Jorge Lorenzo and a liability of four units on Johann zarco. He is therefore the last of the trio to discover a new motorcycle. But the Italian assures that he has the hardest life: “ MotoGP is very tight these days and with two or three tenths you can make an incredible jump » comments the one who went through Ducati then Suzuki. “ This is why we must accelerate development. We have a big responsibility on our shoulders, so I think it's a little easier for Jorge ».

He explains why: “ he is a great champion, very talented and he has a great teammate, but above all he is on the bike that won the title. For us it's a little more difficult, because I'm not only getting used to the bike, but it also needs to be developed ».

Iannone is therefore mobilized on two fronts: “ but I always give my best, all the guys work for me and believe in me, and it's the best situation ". The goal now is to reduce the gap with your teammate I will espargaro. “ This is our goal because we have the same bike and after six to seven races I want to start fighting with him " Explain Iannone. " In any case, we continue to develop and improve the bike, we never give up and try to progress from race to race to catch up with our opponents ».
