The period that opens before us is conducive to wishes but also to wishes and even to good resolutions. A magic of the confectioners' truce which, associated with the winter rest of the Grand Prix warriors, opens up to benevolence. This beautiful atmosphere benefits everyone and no one should be forgotten for it to be at its peak. At Aprilia for example, we remembered that Mike Di Meglio had worked on RS-GP.

At Aprilia, in 2016, we logically talked about Stefan Bradl andAlvaro Bautista in the exploitation of an RS-GP which suffered to subscribe in a top 10 which remains to be reached. An attention which has not always been positive if we remember the annoyance publicly and clearly expressed by the boss of the Piaggio group, which includes the Noale brand. An impatience to want a return on investment which has not gone unnoticed.

In summary, the two servants of the RS-GP were not renewed and these are Sam Lowes and especially Aleix Espargaró who will have to take up the torch. A situation which did not prevent the boss of the competition from thank the German and the Spanish for the service provided, just after they had packed their bags.

True, but there was a third man involved in the development of the RS-GP. He responds to the name of Mike Di Meglio, he is French and he is even a former World Champion in the late 125cc. We were then in 2008. A discretion that the same Albesian lifted on speedweek : " Mike worked diligently but it wasn't easy for him as he was learning about Michelin tires. But if we made progress with the bike in 2016, it’s also thanks to him. He has his part in the evolution of RS-GP ».

We are reassured. In 2017, Mike Di Meglio will be a Yamaha Endurance rider. But on occasion he will MotoGP tests for an Italian brand based near Noale.
