Faced with its meager results, Aprilia decided to take the bull by the horns and give itself the means to take a leap forward in 2019.

Even before the arrival ofAndrea Iannone alongsideAlex Espargaro, the most striking signal had certainly been the preparation of a test team with the commitment of Bradley Smith.

It is now announced that Massimo rivola will be the new sporting director of Aprilia Racing. Romano Albesiano had already warned that he would no longer be able to follow the sporting direction of the team, because of too heavy a workload for the one who is above all the technical manager of the team.

It was therefore Massimo Rivola who was chosen to play this role, he who spent most of his career in F1, first at Minardi (now Toro Rosso) as sporting director then team manager, then at Ferrari since 2009. as sporting director of the Scuderia before being removed from this position in 2015 and becoming head of the Ferrari Driver Academy.

From 2019, Rivola will be responsible for the sporting activity of Aprilia Racing, an important element in the growth of the Noale team.
