Aprilia MotoGP suffer

Aprilia Racing has embarked on a strategic shift by appointing Fabiano Sterlacchini as its new Technical Director, who will make his first appearance in the Aprilia garage at the penultimate MotoGP round in Malaysia. Sterlacchini, formerly Technical Director at Ducati and recently at KTM, arrives at a critical time as the Italian team restructures its technical staff with an eye on 2025.

The decision to recruit Sterlacchini follows the announcement of the resignation of the current technical director, Roman Albesian, who will leave for Honda after the season finale in Valencia. Albesian will remain in his position until the last race of 2024, and even if Sterlacchini will only observe in Malaysia, his presence is crucial for the preparation for next year.

The atmosphere in the box Aprilia seems calm despite this strategic reshuffle. The pilot Maverick Vinales, who will go to Tech3 KTM in 2025, ensures that everything remains stable: " I didn't notice anything strange. We are still working to make the bike work at its best. » Casa Particular in Viñales emphasizes that even if Albesian announced his departure, his commitment " remains intact ».
