Direct consequence of the Iannone affair or not, Lorenzo Savadori will be an Aprilia Racing rider for the 2020 season which is fast approaching. The native of Cesena, 2015 FIM STK champion on the Aprilia RSV4, has signed a contract which binds him to the manufacturer based in Noale.

The Italian will be part of the MotoGP team as a test rider for the development of the young and already promising RS-GP 2020, and he will race in the Italian CIV championship aboard the Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory.

The Italian was already on the new V4 prototype during MotoGP testing in Sepang. The good result of these tests and the major development work that awaits the new motorcycle were the key elements in the decision taken by Aprilia Racing and Lorenzo to launch this collaboration. The fact that Bradley Smith, official test pilot of Noale is obliged to replace for the moment Andrea Iannone no doubt also, which also seems a little worrying for the future of the Italian…

In the Italian championship, Savadori will race the whole season with the support of the Nuova M2 Racing team, with whom he raced and won races last season, also riding the RSV4.

Lorenzo Savadori : “I am really very happy to continue racing for Aprilia Racing. The role of MotoGP test rider allows me to get closer to this category, which is the maximum expression of world motorcycle racing. I am honored and happy to be part of this project. I would like to thank everyone at Aprilia Racing and everyone who made this opportunity possible. Now I can't wait to get started! The Italian championship will also be of a very high level this season. Together with Nuova M2 Racing we will work very hard and with passion to keep the new RSV4 Factory 1100 at a high level. »
