Aragon

This weekend, the Aragon Grand Prix will launch a series of three consecutive Grand Prix which will be particularly trying for the organizations. Indeed, as soon as the finish line is crossed in Spain, we will have to head towards Japan which will be an intermediate stage before finishing in Thailand. These two overseas events will be a first for Gresini riders Enea Bastianini and Fabio Di Giannontonio with a Ducati MotoGP. But above all they remember that they were able to be quite skillful in the days of Moto2 and Moto3. So why not ?

A whole new trio of events is about to start for the World Championship MotoGP and the team Gresini is ready for this demanding challenge, which will take the team based in Faenza first to Alcaniz (Spain), then to Motegi (Japan) and Buriram (Thailand). This second half of the season promises to be a tour de force, with Enea Bastianini et Fabio DiGiannantonio ready to test their physical condition and the adjustment solutions found during the recent test in Misano on very different tracks.

The upcoming meetings are, on paper, among the most favorable to the two Gresini standard-bearers, if we refer to past editions. bastianini stood on the podium in Aragon five times between 2016 and 2020 (three times in Moto3 and two in Moto2); he also won once in Japan in 2016 (Moto3), while he has 11th place as his best result so far in Buriram.

On the other side of the box, By Giannantonio stood on the podiums in Spain and Thailand: he was 2nd in Alcañiz in 2017 and on the top step in Buriram a year later. His best result in Japan to date is 7th place in 2017.

« It's going to be a tough trio, but we're motivated and we have momentum » ensures fourth in the championship Enea Bastianini. " I have a great feeling with Aragon and last year I made my MotoGP debut there. As for Japan and Thailand, it will be a discovery with my Ducati, but I think that at the moment, we can be fast in all conditions. The objective is to finish the season in the best possible way, and this trio will be decisive »

His teammate and rookie Fabio DiGiannantonio added : " it's surely the most difficult time of the season for many reasons: long trips, time difference, food... we are coming out of a positive test and we will start with Aragon, which is a track that I like a lot and where I I hope to be able to confirm the positive feeling found with the bike. It will be good to go back to Japan and Thailand as we haven't been there in a while and I can't wait. We are ready for this threesome ».
