This Thursday, September 9, 2021, Miguel Oliveira answered questions from journalists from the Motorland Aragón circuit, ahead of the MotoGP Aragón Grand Prix.

We went to listen (via teleconferencing software) to the words of the Portuguese driver, who will try to get back into the points zone this weekend after three races with zero points.

As usual, we report here the words of Miguel Oliveira without the slightest formatting.

Miguel, what is your state of mind as we approach this new race weekend?

" I have Enjoyed our week off, it was really a good thing to clear our heads. I can't wait to start the weekend. After three clean results in a row it will be important to start the weekend well, starting on Friday. This will be important for my confidence and that of the team. My goal is to be competitive, so let's hope that we can regain our speed and what has made us strong so far. »

What are the strengths and weaknesses of the KTM on this track?

" I I would say that this is a really complex track, because you have very fast corners, but also corners that require big accelerations. There are also braking points with the bike straight, and others that require the bike to be tilted. It's hard to say the bike has weak and strong points here. »

" I hope so simply that we will be able to have a good motorcycle, well balanced. Last year it went well for us here, and we understood well what we had to do to progress during the second round which was held here, both in terms of settings and electronics. . We therefore have a good base at our disposal from the outset, but we will also have to see the impact that the temperatures will have, the latter which will undoubtedly be very different from those that we were able to encounter last year. »

“We will have to see the impact of the temperatures this weekend”

It is a track that has a wide variety of turns. Where do you expect to waste time, and where do you expect to save time?

" I I think it's a track that has a very complex layout. There really is everything, and I can't see a strong point or, conversely, a weak point. I think we'll just do our best, that's all. »

How is your wrist following its crack in August? Do you have any fears about this and were you able to treat yourself during the week off?

" It There's nothing we can really do about the wrist, we'll have to wait for it to heal on its own. It is obvious that riding the motorcycle is not likely to speed up the healing process, but it does not delay it either. I'll still be sore for a few races, but it will eventually go away. »

“Riding the motorcycle is not likely to speed up the healing of my wrist”

Have you made any changes to the bike with the idea of putting less strain on your wrist?

" No, although I would have liked that to be the case! Unfortunately, the gas and brakes are always on the right side of the handlebars [laughs]! »
