While it was thought that it would be more difficult to do worse than at the Red Bull Ring for Yamaha, Alex Rins and Fabio Quartararo push the limits in Aragon. The two men finished 19th and 20th respectively in Practice, well behind the best Honda riders. At this point, it becomes difficult to blame any parameter; even the low grip due to the asphalt cannot explain this gap. And according to some, like Max Bartolini, it could well last until… the end of 2025! Hang on tight.
Alex Rins didn't have much to say after this Black Friday. The Spaniard was injured a short while ago, but that doesn't explain the poor performance of the Yamaha riders. « The grip was very poor and the day was quite difficult. Today we gave it our all, as always, and It seems that we are a little further away from the leaders than on the other circuits. » he admitted. The fact of having given everything is almost frightening, and does not suggest much hope.

Rins, however, pushed hard on the track conditions, which were governed by a glaring lack of grip that almost everyone complained about. Indeed, the asphalt had just been resurfaced, and gave the drivers a rather strange feeling. « Of course, the poor grip conditions on this track don't help us. Let's see if we can improve tomorrow.." added the main person concerned.
The situation is almost getting out of control at Yamaha, which is having a series of critical weekends. The Iwata company is heading inexorably towards the worst financial year in its historyAt the same time last year, Quartararo had already been on the podium twice, once in a Sunday race and once in a Sprint.
