Jorge Martin, currently second in the MotoGP championship standings, finished the first day of testing for the Aragon Grand Prix in fourth position in Friday afternoon's session. The Prima Pramac rider ended his day with a gap of 0,578 seconds behind Marc Marquez (Gresini/Ducati), who dominated the session, and the factory Aprilias of Aleix Espargaró and Maverick Viñales.
« I feel confident, I feel that we are progressing, that we are taking small steps, " said Martin on the official website of the championship. Maybe we are not in front of others, but it is not usual to be in this position. I feel like only Marc and the Aprilias were a bit faster today."
Martin identified areas where he can still improve for the rest of the weekend: " I think we lose a lot of time in two corners, I hope we can put it all together. But we are not that far away. When braking, I am the same as Marquez or Bagnaia"
Jorge Martin: “ Marc Marquez is definitely strong, I will try to do my best »
Despite the excellent performance of Marc Marquez this Friday, George Martin minimizes the importance of this direct competition: " well, this is not my fight with Marc. He is certainly strong, it is clear that he is comfortable from the start and that he goes very quickly., " did he declare. “ I will try to do my best, if I can win, that's perfect. But if not, I'll do my best, it's not like i need to beat him"
George Martin therefore remains focused on his own performance and on the improvements he can make to his Ducati for the rest of the weekend. His strategy is to fine-tune the details, especially in the corners where he is still losing time, while maintaining a competitive pace under braking. With this approach, Martin hopes to get closer to its main rivals and play a key role in the fight for victory at Aragon.
