Marquez Aragon

Marc Marquez is very strong at Aragon, it's not something new. But today, he dazzled the MotoGP world, no less. Much more comfortable than his competitors on a new asphalt, he quickly took first place and never let it go. In the process, he beat the previous track record. It was, without a doubt, one of his best Fridays since 2021, the year of his last victory in the premier class. That's what it's all about, so let's ask the question frankly: can Marc Marquez win this Grand Prix? There's a chance, indeed.

"When you have speed, everything is easier" confided the eight-time world champion to the microphones of GP One at the end of the Practice. In Aragon, Marquez is like a fish in water. « In Austria I already felt very good, even if the results did not reflect this.. So everything was there for it to work: we had a very good base, a slippery track to which we had to adapt quickly; one of my strong points. I think, however, that the others will come closer and that times will tighten. » he said honestly.

No excitement, then, but real and clear satisfaction. « I have to stay calm, with my feet on the ground. My goal is to be on the front row, if not, second. I will have two chances, in the Sprint and in the race. I have to continue with the same intensity, and in this case, yes, I think I can aim for victory, it is possible. I have a good opportunity » he continued.

A cocktail of conditions that could hit the mark once the lights go out, but the surprise factor also helped. If the track improves, the others will probably get closer. « I had a lot of fun, and it's true that the asphalt with little grip limits some machines quite a bit.. I have to be honest: I expected to be fast, but not this fast. The resurfacing helped me: the Ducati GP24, for example, puts a lot of torque on the ground, so it's hampered. Zarco's Honda was in the top 10. Moreover, the GP24 has already made a leap forward between morning and afternoon. » he concluded.
