There are days with and days without... Today, for Alex Rins, this expression has taken on its full meaning. The Suzuki driver thus did not manage to enter the top 10 at the end of this first day of free practice on the Aragón track, on the occasion of the fourteenth round of the championship. Tomorrow will certainly be another day to restart the charge, but the rain should be part of the celebrations during qualifying...

The winner of Silverstone, however, does not look gloomy in view of the disappointments encountered during this first day. Victim of technical problems on his Suzuki GSX-RR in FP1, the 23-year-old rider missed out on the coveted top 10 during FP2, being pipped to the post by the Aprilia rider Aleix Espargaró, faster for 0.033s. If it rained on Saturday morning as is forecast in Aragón, the Suzuki official would be obliged to take a short detour through Q1.

« This first day went well » declared the Spaniard, not showing the slightest concern. “ We had a small technical problem in FP1 and we are still analyzing what happened. In FP2 my pace was good, even with the hard tires. I'm very confident because I have a good feeling on the bike. We will review the data and prepare for Saturday”explained the Barcelonan. »

There where Alex Rins failed, Joan mir, his teammate succeeded. The rookie thus managed to climb to ninth place (+1 s) at the end of this first day.

In the championship and after his blank result at Misano, the latter having fallen, the winner of Austin and Silverstone, was taken back to third place by Danilo Petrucci, the Ducati rider who is ahead of him by only 2 points.
