This Saturday September 11, 2021, Valentino Rossi answered questions from journalists from the Motorland Aragón circuit, at the end of the second day of the MotoGP Aragón Grand Prix.

We went to listen (via teleconferencing software) to the words of the Italian driver who qualified in a modest 21st position.

As usual, we report here the words of Valentino Rossi without the slightest formatting.

Valentino Rossi : “Today, for me, was better than yesterday because I felt better with the bike this morning and I improved my pace. In FP3, I was able to set a good time because I was only 0,6 seconds from pole position, but… (laughs) Here again we were all, all, all, together in the same time. It's incredible ! I think it was one of the worst time sheets: The first four drivers were in the same time this morning! It was very very balanced!
In the afternoon we tried to work with the different tires and in the end my pace wasn't too bad. Not fantastic but around 15th place. But then, my position on the grid is very bad because I was not able to use all my potential because unfortunately during treatment I was not in the right place. I was still in traffic and had a few problems, so my lap wasn't great. I had the potential to do a little better.
We will see ! We will see tomorrow because the choice of tires will be very open, with the front but particularly with the rear, so it will not be easy to make the right choice. It is difficult to predict what will happen in the race because it will also depend a lot on the temperatures. »

Can you give us some information about your future team, since we haven't had any news for almost two weeks now?
“Honestly, I don’t know the situation with the prince very well. I know we will make the MotoGP team. We are already working very hard. Honestly, I don't know the situation very well or the latest news, but I think that whatever happens we will be in MotoGP next year. »

It seems that most drivers will choose the soft tire tomorrow. Will this be a problem for you or will you do it differently?
" Sincerely, I do not know. During testing we tried to change the settings of the bike, and we tried to work to preserve the rear tire as much as possible. Tomorrow the situation will be very open, mainly between hard and soft, but some will also choose medium. So everyone will have a different tire. We will see ! I'm not as fast as I was at Silverstone but we hope that by working on the bike we can improve the life of the rear tire. We'll see tomorrow. We will try to score some points. »

What do you think of the coating here?
“Here, the asphalt is quite difficult because it is very abrasive for the tires, very aggressive, but it doesn't offer much grip. I think it's because this circuit is in a difficult place: When it's hot, it's very hot, and when it's windy, it brings a lot of sand because there's a lot of sand around. So I think it's difficult here about the asphalt, but I don't know what will happen in the future. »

Valentino Rossi then spoke at length about the football match between Real Madrid and Inter Milan…
