Each Grand Prix has its own physiognomy and we have the impression that within the Mooney VR46 Racing Team it is “a shot to you, a shot to me” between Luca marini et Marco Bezzecchi, as during this qualification for the Aragon Grand Prix where the team's Rookie gained the upper hand over his elder brother.

Indeed, barely the brother of Valentino Rossi had he seemed to gain a somewhat significant advantage over Marco Bezzecchi, which the latter responded by qualifying seventh at Motorland Aragón thanks to a direct passage to Q2 won thanks to his magnificent third place in FP3, 56/1000 behind the fastest Ducati.

Author of the second fastest time in FP4, the Rimini driver obtained his place on the third row of the starting grid, seven positions ahead of his teammate Luca marini stuck in Q1. Two very different destinies for two men whose best times, after all, are only separated by 204 thousandths of a second.

In the general classification, Marco Bezzecchi concedes 14 points to Luca marini et intends to make up for his mistake at Misano: a sort of internal double or double will therefore be played out tomorrow…

Luca marini : " It's amazing how much a weekend can change in such a short time. This morning we were not able to reach Q2, we had good potential to be able to stay on the second, third row, but in the first qualifying session the yellow flags prevented me from improving my lap time. We will start from the back of the group tomorrow, we will try to do our best to recover and get closer to the front. »

Marco Bezzecchi : " Compared to yesterday, it went very well and I'm happy. We did a good job with the team and today, from FP3, we were able to take a good step forward. I feel good about my pace too, it's just a shame about the fall in FP4, just before qualifying. The fall pissed me off. This curve is always a little tricky. We wanted to try something with the second bike and I felt pretty good, but I had less confidence. After the fall, we looked at the data. When I fell, I was slower than before and had less lean angle. So we took the other bike for qualifying and it was the right decision. In Q2, I gave everything, I tried and I'm looking forward to the race. My running pace is not bad but not good enough to run ahead. The top three have a bit more and Fabio also drove at an incredible pace in FP4. But in the last few races, we could clearly see that the pace of the race was always a little slower. I don't know exactly why, maybe because of Moto2. So if the guys in front slow down a bit, but I can keep my pace, then maybe there's something to be done. »

Paul Grandson : " It's a real shame to have lost the second row just before the checkered flag, but in any case, we are more than satisfied with the step forward made since yesterday. Marco behaved very well this morning during free practice and also during FP4, despite his fall, he kept the pace of the strongest. Luca struggled a bit and was forced to go to Q1. He tried, but in the traffic he couldn't express himself as well as possible. I'm sure he will be able to recover during the race. »
