The Suzuki driver did not achieve the qualification he hoped for, but nevertheless wants to be optimistic for tomorrow.

Alex Rins failed to do well in qualifying. Just out of the top 10 in combined times yesterday, he was not overly worried and was confident to move on to Q2 today, despite a move to Q1 forced by the onset of rain.

This morning, however, he had set the best time during FP3 (although the session was disrupted by rain and therefore did not count for qualifying), and finished fourth in FP4, enough to suggest a good performance in Q1. But things didn't work out as he hoped, and he was unable to save himself, finishing third in Q1, just a tenth behind runner-up Andrea Iannone.

“I feel strong with the hard tire, I wanted to use it for qualifying and I thought it was the best thing to do, but in the end I didn't improve my lap time enough and I missed just short of Q2. I felt really good in FP3 and FP4, so I was quite disappointed not to advance to the final part of qualifying” he commented upon his return to the box.

Nevertheless, he is optimistic for tomorrow's race, and given the results he has obtained on the Aragonese track in the past, the statistics would rather prove him right. Indeed, he finished fourth last year, and has never finished higher than sixth place (including a victory and a podium), regardless of the category, except during his first season in MotoGP. “I remain positive for the race because I feel our bike is working well here. I hope to have a good race. »
