Valentino Rossi

Valentino Rossi does not remember the last edition of the Grand Prix in Aragon since he was withdrawn due to Covid-19 infection, but he clearly remembers his rear tire problems encountered during the last round at Silverstone. This is also his first concern when going to a site that he had criticized for its gloom last year, which had not been to the taste of the local organizers...

But the latter will welcome him all the same and all the more willingly since it will be for the last time since Valentino Rossi will take retreat at the end of this season. The Doctor presents himself for this thirteenth deadline of the calendar MotoGP and his sixth and final Grand Prix with a team where a special atmosphere reigns. Indeed, Petronas also fires his last cartridges and he will once again have as a teammate a Jake Dixon who made his debut in the category at Silverstone. He will then give way to Dovizioso who will arrive for Misano.

Vale comments on this deadline by starting by recalling his setbacks to Silverstone : " I felt good with the bike throughout the British Grand Prix, especially because in free practice we had one of the best paces of our season. We also had a good start to the race, I was in a position where I could fight with the faster riders ».

Valentino Rossi: “I had podiums, I never won in Aragon”

He adds : " I hope to be able to find the same sensations this weekend, but Aragon can be a real challenge in terms of grip throughout the race, especially at the rear. I had podiums, I never won in Aragon. The track layout is good and it's fast, but it's difficult to drive. You have to be particularly fluid on this circuit to be strong at the end of the race. We'll see what happens and I can't wait to get on track since last year the Grand Prix didn't take place for me ».

The Alcañiz route has never been the best for Yamaha , but the Red Bull Ring wasn't either and we know what accomplished there Fabio Quartararo. We will also recall that Morbidely had won the Teruel Grand Prix with his M1 Petronas… For his part, Jake Dixon commented:  “iI'm looking forward to Aragon this weekend and having another chance to ride the Yamaha YZR-M1 again is just fantastic. That made me really happy. I want to thank the team for giving me the opportunity to ride the bike again and see what I can do I want to see how I can improve further this weekend and try to close the gap to the leaders. Obviously they are the best in the world but I have a great team around me and I think it is possible, I feel that I am working well with the bike and I think we will take another step towards the leaders this week-end ».
