Zarco Argentina

Johann Zarco failed to secure the podium he was aiming for in the sprint race in Argentina but is very happy with his result and hopes to improve on it tomorrow in the main race.

After his solid performance in Q2, which saw him qualify in third position earlier today, Johann zarco dreamed of his first sprint race podium. But while he was able to outperform Francesco Bagnaia in qualifying, the Italian had a little something extra compared to him. He had to settle for fourth place, which nevertheless remains his best result with Honda.

"It's great. I would have really liked this first medal because I haven't had the sprint medal yet. Pecco still has the strength to do the first laps very quickly. Afterwards, I thought he was going to struggle a bit more, but no, he kept up the pace and I was slipping. What's good is that there were still some nice overtaking moves on Acosta and Fabio, so the speed was there and you can feel it. As soon as you're behind the others, there's that little extra something, so I try to take advantage of it.", he explained on the microphone of Canal +.

"If tomorrow we can play for the podium, that would be great because I think I might have a bit more luck with the pace with the rear medium. The Ducatis are better at using the rear soft tire in the first third of the race, and a sprint is half a race, so that means a third is already a lot of laps."

Zarco Argentina

If one could fear that he finished his race frustrated at having come within 1″2 of the podium, John Zarco on the contrary, showed his joy but also his satisfaction to see the Honda confirm its improvements this weekend after the good things shown in Thailand. "We have to be happy with fourth place", he said. "It's certain that at the time we wanted to play for the podium, but it was harder after that."

"It gives even more hope and it means that the sensations on the bike are improving. I'm always trying to think about how to do better, how to use this MotoGP better because a MotoGP is still an exceptional bike, even if there are bikes better than others, we tell ourselves that the Honda must still be good. And still, it has improved and I'm happy to use it well. So we'll see tomorrow if we can continue on this path and be happy."
