Marc Marquez was imperious on this second day in Argentina. Without faltering, the eight-time World Champion took pole position – and incidentally, a new track record – as well as the victory in the Sprint. Once again, he beat his brother to the finish, and once again, Pecco Bagnaia, third, could do absolutely nothing to thwart the siblings' plansHe has now collected 49 points, or 100% of the available points, and is slowly heading towards a second consecutive perfect weekend... unless another driver comes along to tickle him.
The Ducati official was more than happy at the finish of the Sprint. He knew full well that his teammate and potential title rival, Pecco Bagnaia, was unanswered. Once again, he asserted his superiority as if he had never been injured from 2020 to 2023. However, not everything went exactly as planned: « I never imagined a flight like this.I positioned myself to the right to avoid all the motorcycles that were coming, but I didn't know if the track was dirty at that point. I would have liked a better start, but it's something we've been working on since the beginning of the season, and even before. We're trying to find a coherent electronic configuration." he claimed for Sky Sports at the finish. This did not prevent him from completing the Sprint without ever being overtaken.

He was able to speak about his rivals. He sees his younger brother, Alex Marquez, as a real threat, who could one day surpass him. “Despite the start, I'm happy, I had a good Sprint. I have a good feeling, and I fought with my brother who, sooner or later, will beat me in turnTomorrow I expect Pecco Bagnaia to be very strong because he is a Sunday specialist. I tried to manage, but I saw that my brother Alex was very strong. I don't know if he made a mistake at the end... » he continued. Once again, Marc looked almost easy, with room to spare.

This dominance doesn't stop him from dreaming bigger. For tomorrow, Marc would logically like to put himself out of reach of his brother, who has somewhat threatened him in this Sprint: "I think it's possible to make a real step forward during the warm-up. We are only in the second race, there is still a lot of work to do » he concluded. It's almost scary, given his current form. Let's hope, for the sake of the show, that another driver comes along to challenge him – why not Johann Zarco? It was, in fact, the third consecutive race with the same three drivers in order at the finish.
