Marc Marquez continues to make history in MotoGP. After his pole position in Buriram for the 2025 season opener, the eight-time world champion repeated the feat this weekend at Termas de Rio Hondo, securing pole position for the Argentine Grand Prix. With a record time of 1:36.917, Marquez smashed his own track record, once again confirming his dominance of the Argentine circuit. 

To Marquez, this pole position has a special significance. It is his sixth pole at Termas de Río Hondo, his 68th pole in MotoGP (overtaking his closest pursuer, Mick Doohan, by 10 points), and his 90th career pole, thus equaling the legendary Angel Nieto. For Ducati, this is the 106th pole in Top Class, further proof of the competitiveness of the Italian brand.

fabio quartararo achieved a solid performance by qualifying his Yamaha in seventh place, 0,430 seconds from pole. The Frenchman was ahead Franco Morbidelli (VR46 Racing Team) and Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia), which lost five positions compared to prequalifications but continues to progress.

The fourth line is composed of Joan mir (Honda HRC), Brad Binder (KTM Factory) and alex rins (Yamaha Factory). All other riders, including Jack Miller (Pramac Yamaha), failed to make it past Q1.

The qualifying session was particularly difficult for some drivers. Luca marini, on the second Honda HRC, finished 16th, while Miguel Oliveira (Yamaha Pramac) and Raul Fernandez (Aprilia TrackHouse) also struggled to find the rhythm.

The rookies Fermin Aldeguer (Ducati Gresini) and Ai Ogura (Aprilia Trackhouse) finished 14th and 15th respectively, showing that they still have work to do to adapt to the premier class. Finally, Lorenzo Savadori, the Aprilia test rider replacing the injured Jorge Martin, finished last, more than a second behind pole position.
