Jack Miller

Jack Miller can be satisfied with his Sunday result, he who started from so far back on the grid. Ultimately, the KTM official didn't do such a bad thing by flying from Argentina. Whatever anyone says, his adaptation to Mattighofen's machine is still surprising, but he, as a great competitor, wanted more today. It is true that he particularly likes these conditions, and has distinguished himself on numerous occasions in similar races, whether in the Netherlands in 2016, or in Japan and Thailand last season.

« It would have been better to start from a better place in these conditions, there was a lot of water on the track in the straight » declared the Australian to the always well informed speedweek. Indeed, it was not difficult to understand that the asphalt was very delicate, given the errors made by the other drivers. “ Then I saw that I was getting closer after a few good laps » he added.

Facing tough opponents, Jack Miller is doing well, even if he would have liked to catch Jorge Martín: “It was quite a long time in the rain. The bike was running well, but I didn't have the mechanical grip I wanted. In any case, our room for improvement is significant and at least we scored some good points ».

Starting from the back of the grid, there is reason to be happy. But Jack Miller is more reserved, as he also stated: “ There were a series of unfortunate factors here. We had the pace to fight even higher. Not going to Q2 wasn't ideal, but at least we're learning from this weekend. I can't wait to be in Austin, but I'm confident we're on the right track ».

This is a certainty: We will have to closely monitor the performance of “ Thriller » in the United States, and more generally for the rest of the season.
