Pecco Bagnaia

After virtually unchallenged domination during the eventful first round of the season in Portugal, Ducati and Pecco Bagnaia are logically heading with confidence towards the next stage which is Argentina. However, you will have to be careful because the Termas de Rio Hondo track has never before been offered to a Ducati. Then, if the new format is now understood, it must be remembered that the big premiere took place on a Portimao track known to have been the track of the last test of the off-season two weeks previously. This will be the real leap into the unknown...

So there are still a lot of uncertainties to face this weekend for the MotoGP. Full points made at Portimao proves all the more valuable for the troops Ducati who know that everything could change at any moment. The package for this second stage of the season for their second driver Enea Bastianini due to injury is the demonstration of this. In Argentina, Pecco Bagnaia will be alone in his box.

Pecco Bagnaia: “in Argentina we will have to start our work again from scratch"

Before getting back into it on his Ducati GP23 which already delights him, Pecco Bagnaia commented : " everything was perfect during last week's Grand Prix and I hope it will be the same here in Argentina ". He adds : " compared to Portimao, where we tested a few weeks before the race, here we will have to start our work from scratch. It will therefore be important to get the most out of each session ».

« In any case, I am optimistic: my feelings with the bike are incredible, so I am confident that I can do well in all conditions ". Then he finishes: “ This weekend, I will be the only one representing my team. I wish Enea a speedy recovery and hope he can get back on track with us in Austin ».

Termas de Rio Hondo is one of three tracks on the current calendar that MotoGP has already visited and where Ducati has no victories, with Mandalika (only one race held there) and Buriram. Ducati has never won the first two races of a MotoGP season and the Bologna missiles could achieve this feat this weekend in Argentina… bagnaia became the first reigning MotoGP world champion in Portugal to win the season-opening race since Jorge Lorenzo in 2016. The Italian will also aim to become the first to win the first two MotoGP races since Marc Marquez in 2014.
