MotoGP Assen: what time are the free practice sessions this Friday?

Before this meeting in Assen, there was a German Grand Prix, where Fabio Quartararo won for the 11th time in MotoGP and the third time since the start of the year, just like with Portugal and the Catalonia. It's his first back-to-back MotoGP win since Doha and Portugal last year.

This is the 12th victory of Quarterly in Grand Prix. He is still second on the list of French drivers with the most victories, behind Johann zarco who is in the lead with 16 victories. This is the 26th MotoGP podium of Quarterly with Yamaha and he is still seventh on the list of drivers Yamaha with the most podiums in the premier class, two less than the MotoGP legend Max Biaggi (Valentino Rossi leads with 142).

This is the first MotoGP victory for Yamaha at the Sachsenring since Valentino Rossi in 2009. The Frenchman ended a series of 11 successive victories for Honda drivers on the circuit. This is the 98th victory for France in a Grand Prix and the 14th for the country in the premier category.

With Quarterly et John Zarco, this is only the third French double in the premier category: last year in Doha and Portugal this year with Quarterly et zarco in the same order. This is the seventh time that two French drivers have shared the same podium in the premier category and the sixth time with Quarterly et zarco, with Doha (2021), France (2021), Indonesia (2022), Portugal (2022) and Catalonia (2022).

Quarterly is still at the top of the MotoGP standings with 172 points ahead Alex Espargaro (138) et Johann zarco (111). This is the same number of points scored by Quarterly after the first 10 races than last year at this stage of the season.

zarco finished second in the German Grand Prix for his fourth podium of the season with Indonesia, Portugal and Catalonia. This is his 15th podium in the premier category, which allows him to extend his record of podiums without a victory in this category ahead of Colin Edwards.

This is the ninth podium of zarco with Ducati, one less than Danilo Petrucci who is sixth on the list of Ducati riders with the most podiums in the premier class. Despite a long lap penalty, Jack Miller finished third for his third podium of 2022 after Americas (P3) and France (P2). With zarco et Miller, this is the 16th consecutive MotoGP race with at least one Ducati on the podium, a streak that began in Aragon last year. This is one less than the Bologna factory record set from Turkey/2007 to Qatar/2008 (17 successive races).

Only two drivers have scored points in each race since the start of the season: fabio quartararo et Aleix Espargaró.

Since 2011, the winner of the race at Assen has alternately been a Yamaha rider and a Honda rider

Stefan bradl finished 16th as first and only driver Honda, which is the first time that no Honda has scored points in the premier class since the 1982 French GP, boycotted for safety reasons.
