Affected by the devastating floods in October that hit the Valencia region, the Ricardo Tormo circuit, which usually hosts the Grand Prix held in the autonomous community, has undertaken maintenance work. To do this, it has received a nice financial boost from another circuit that is a regular on the MotoGP tour.
The site that houses the Ricardo Tormo Circuit was unrecognisable after the storm hit the Valencia side. While the main access road to the circuit had collapsed, the Minimoto circuit was badly damaged. While the track suffered no apparent damage, repair work has been undertaken, with the aim of allowing the circuit to resume its activities.
Earlier this month, the circuit announced that on-track action was ready to resume, but the private run that was being organised there saw the day's participants being transported to the circuit via a different route.
In order to help another circuit on the MotoGP tour, the Assen circuit has decided to donate 50 euros to the Valencian site. A benevolent approach, which allows the Dutch circuit to remind that it will celebrate its centenary in 000. The official announcement explains to us that this sum will be used to renew the Circuit's equipment affected by the floods.
"A part of the machines of the Ricardo Tormo Circuit has, in fact, become unusable after the floods. A shovel and a lifting crane were buried in the water and mud, under the tunnel that crosses the track at the starting grid. The new vehicles will be in the image of the circuit TT Assen, to show solidarity between the two regions."
An example of solidarity which shows once again the close ties between the different players in MotoGP which transcend borders.
"We are deeply affected by what happened in the Valencian Community," he said. Arjan Bos, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Assen. We want to show that the MotoGP community stands together in times of adversity. We wish all citizens the best in these difficult times.
Et Nicolas Collado, theThe general manager of the Circuit Ricardo Tormo added. “[I am] very grateful. The engine community has been very affected. During the Barcelona Solidarity Grand Prix we were able to see how the paddock MotoGP and the Circuit de Catalunya itself overturned and on the spot we received this offer of help from Assen, which will be very useful."
