Pol Espargaró will not participate in the rest of the Dutch GP due to his injuries sustained at the Sachsenring.

Since his crash during the first free practice session of the German GP, Pol I will espargaro did everything possible to recover and be ready for the 11th round of the MotoGP World Championship. After the second free practice session on Friday, Espargaró still felt intense pain and discomfort. He therefore does not feel capable of riding a MotoGP motorcycle and has decided, with the Repsol Honda team, not to participate in the Assen race.

The Repsol Honda team looks forward to welcoming a fully fit Pol Espargaró to Silverstone after the summer break. Although suffering from minor burns, Stefan Bradl will continue to participate in the Dutch GP with the Repsol Honda Team.

Pol Espargaro: « At Sachsenring I was in a lot of pain but I was able to continue thanks to painkillers and a few injections. It was very difficult to ride, but it was bearable. Even though I gave up, I was able to do quite a few laps. But here, after putting on a new tire, I felt something was wrong and when I returned to the pits, I was having trouble breathing. I have a problem with my ribs which is blocking the air intake. This morning I had trouble even walking, so imagine on a MotoGP. I'm really sorry to the team but I have to take some tests because it's not normal to feel such intense pain. So there you go, I can't. »

Alberto Puig: « He can't, it's as simple as that. He feels enormous pain. Yesterday morning, during the session in the rain, he felt pretty good. Riding in the rain is much less demanding. On the other hand, during FP2, the track was dry and he had to work hard, he returned to the box once and he was completely broken. He could barely breathe. I think his ribs are affected. I don't think it's just the ligaments. There's a problem with the ribs, maybe pressure on the lung or something, because Pol is a very strong guy, if he stops it's really because he's not doing well. You can't put a guy on the bike if he can't ride. So, we all decided together that it was too dangerous and that we had to stop. »
