Jack Miller

Jack Miller did not have a big smile on his face at the finish of this Dutch Grand Prix. And for good reason, he had been the joke in the last games before the finish. The Australian thought he would finish third and on the podium in this eleventh round of the season, but in a flash he found himself sixth, lured by a good defense from Viñales who threw him into the clutches of Brad Binder and in the wide open mouth of Aleix Espargaró. An epilogue which makes him regret his penalty at the start of the race…

A penalty detrimental in time and distance known as the “long lap” without which he could have stayed away from the three aforementioned furious people. But that's the way it is and in taking stock of his performance, the Australian who is heading towards his wedding in his native country knows who he will not invite to the wedding... " It was a long race considering what I owe to the commissioners ", declared thus declared Miller. « I didn't give up until the end. I did my best and ended up coming back to Maverick. I wanted to catch him in the fast left turn before the last chicane, I wanted to use more momentum than him ».

Yes, but… " But I expected him to accelerate harder on the way out, but he barely opened the throttle, so I had to right my bike very quickly. It started to shake. I had to do everything not to collide with Maverick, but the motorcycle really went out of control during this maneuver. That's why I couldn't brake as I wanted before the last chicane, it wasn't lucky ».

Jack Miller: At least ten points at Assen

Jack Miller: “être plus intelligent avec le recul, c’est merveilleux, mais ça ne me sert plus à rien"

And for good reason… " I had to park the bike in the last chicane, so to speak, to avoid entering the forbidden green. Before that, Aleix and Brad passed me quite frantically... I think they both grabbed my elbow, but they didn't give me any space. But it was my fault because I no longer expected their attacks. I take full responsibility for it. Unfortunately, because of this incident, I lost all the speed I needed heading into the home stretch. I didn’t have the chance to counterattack.”

He finishes : " overall I don't want to complain. I'm happy with my performance in the race apart from the last two turns. In hindsight, I shouldn't have attacked Maverick. But being smarter in hindsight is wonderful, but it no longer serves me any purpose. All I can do is ride ahead and do my best ».
