Leaving the Sachsenring, Fabio Quartararo can be satisfied. On a circuit that he does not particularly like, the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP rider not only scored the 16 points for 3rd place, but above all increased his lead in the MotoGP world championship standings over the three Ducatis of Johann Zarco , Jack Miller and Francesco Bagnaia, his closest opponents respectively 22, 31 and 32 points behind.

Arriving at the TT Circuit Assen for the ninth and final round of the championship before the summer break, all the lights are green for The Devil who already knows the Dutch circuit having obtained generally good results there, from 2015 in Moto3 with a second place repeated in 2018 in Moto2, followed by a third place during his only participation in MotoGP.

The confidence of the Niçois brought by these results is reinforced by the performances of the Yamaha which, in the past, have roughly won victory one year out of two since the three successive successes of Casey Stoner  from 2007 to 2009.

Were the good performances of the championship leader the tree that hides the forest for Yamaha who experienced a very difficult weekend in Germany? The “cathedral” of motorcycling will soon provide its answer…

fabio quartararo : " In MotoGP you need speed and consistency, and this year we have both. Finishing third at Sachsenring is a good thing, considering we struggled a bit this weekend. Being on the podium after a “bad weekend” makes us even more positive for the future. This weekend we are going to ride at the TT Circuit Assen, which is one of my favorite circuits, and it suits the Yamaha well. I wish it was Friday already! »

Massimo Meregalli : " We begin the Assen round with a certain optimism and a lot of desire to prove ourselves. We cannot be satisfied with the previous ordeal. We are determined to put in a better performance at the Dutch GP. Assen is a circuit that both of our riders really like, and it's a track that suits our bike. Our team always has fun on this circuit, but we are also going to be serious. This is the last GP before the summer break, and we want to finish the first half of the season on the podium in the best possible way. To do this we need to be on point in every session, so that will be our goal throughout the weekend »
