After almost a month of interruption, the MotoGP™ World Championship will finally resume this weekend, in the middle of the magnificent Tuscan hills for the Italian Grand Prix, organized at the emblematic Autodromo internazionale del Mugello.

After his splendid race on the Bugatti circuit in Le Mans, at the end of which he finished close to the podium in P4, the driver of the GASGAS Factory Racing Tech3 team, Augusto Fernandez, will be awaited there at the turn by his opponents, impressed not only by his consistency (Until now, the Moto2™ World Champion has scored points every weekend), but also by his speed since the French Grand Prix in Sarthe.

The only 2023 MotoGP rookie has accumulated thirty points so far, which allows him to be in 14th place in the general standings of the World Championship. He will therefore aim to continue to progress in the premier Grand Prix category, after his brilliant start to his first MotoGP campaign, and will be able to rely on the recent progress made by the RC16s, whether orange or red. .

Having set the bar very high in France aboard his GASGAS RC16, the number 37 will undoubtedly come under some pressure in Italy, on a circuit where his best results are two 5th places during his four participations in Moto2, but the motivation due his Le Mans performance could well generate another pleasant surprise on the transalpine route, for the one who, in fact, has become the spearhead of the French team in the absence of Pol Espargaro...

Augusto Fernandez : " I'm really happy and excited to finally get back into racing. The last few weeks have been very long for me, especially after the Le Mans race, because all I wanted to do was continue racing. I can't wait to go to Mugello, get back on my bike and continue all the work we've done so far. We've done a great job with the team, so I'm looking forward to picking up where we left off in France. »

Nicolas Goyon : " The MotoGP World Championship is about to resume after a break of more than three weeks, which was a bit long for the GASGAS Factory Racing Tech3 team, especially after the epic race of our rookie Augusto Fernández, who finished fourth at Le Mans. We finally resume the competition, with an exciting triple meeting, starting with the Mugello circuit, the cradle of all speed records, and one of the most beautiful tracks of the year, in the middle of magnificent Tuscany . This Grand Prix was difficult last season for the Pierer Mobility group, but we have made great progress recently and I am sure we have the potential to have a good weekend in Italy. Augusto Fernández has worked hard over the past three weeks to arrive at Mugello in tip-top shape and as ready as possible for the next three races in a row, and he will aim to continue his progress. Unfortunately, Pol Espargaró will not be able to resume racing in Mugello as he hoped, because he did not receive the green light from the doctors. It's very close, but we have to wait a little longer. Jonas Folger will be here for us again for the fourth time this season. He had a very good race at Le Mans last month, and he's coming off a very good test in Valencia, so I'm sure he'll be keen to do well at Mugello. We're off to the race, so let's hit the gas! »
