This is an official press release from the Repsol Honda team which tells us that Marc Márquez will miss the GP of the Americas and continue his convalescence.
Following a final scan, Marc Márquez and his medical team, led by Dr Ignacio Roger de Oña, at the Ruber Internacional Hospital in Madrid, confirmed that the first metacarpal was still healing. After close consultation with the Repsol Honda team and HRC, all parties involved chose to allow the injury to fully heal and avoid any unnecessary risk.
Márquez will continue his rehabilitation program at home in order to return to full fitness as soon as possible.
This also allows time for the competent authorities to decide on the appeal made by the Honda team and its flagship rider against the sanction redefined by the panel of FIM MotoGP Stewards...
