It is perhaps written that this 2022 season of the MotoGP championship will be one of surprises and the Grand Prix of the Americas in Austin brings its small share in this area at the end of the three sessions counting for direct passage to qualifying 2...

Indeed, if fabio quartararo, Enea Bastianini, Jack Miller, Marc Marquez, Johann zarco, Francis Bagnaia, Espargaro Pol, Joan mir, Takaaki Nakagami et Luca marini have guaranteed their presence on the first four rows of the starting grid, this is neither the case for George Martin, nor for the only driver who beat Marc Marquez on his American lands, alex rins, nor for the championship leader and winner of the last Grand Prix, Alex Espargaro, despite a good start to the weekend for both men in the USA!

Will the 4-minute FP30, more focused on pace for the race, allow us to observe another hierarchy?

The answer now, still under a blue sky and with temperatures of 26° in the air and 48° on the partially resurfaced asphalt, but also a wind that signals its presence more and more...

While waiting to discover more, as the 24 drivers prepare, let's enjoy these few live moments thanks to the official website MotoGP.com :

When the red lights go out...Joan mir grill for once the politeness to Franco Morbidelli, as Maverick Viñales llet go fabio quartararo before setting off last.

All riders use the hard tire at the front but the choices are more divided regarding the rear.

At once, Alex Marquez experiences problems and has to abandon his motorcycle along the circuit.

Maverick Vinales The first flying lap proved to be the fastest, in 2'04.493. The Aprilia rider lowers the benchmark to 2'03.899 on the next pass, ahead Marc Marquez et Enea Bastianini.

The sectors continue to light up red, a sign that things are not going to stop there and, indeed, Enea Bastianini replies in 2'03.506.

From the fourth lap underway, we no longer see sectors lit in red, which allows us to observe the hierarchy a little before halfway through the race: Enea Bastianini, Aleix Espargaro, Marc Márquez, Maverick Vinales, Jorge Martin, Jack Miller, Alex Rins, Franco Morbidelli, Fabio Quartararo and Johann Zarco regarding the top 10.

It's hot in Texas, and most drivers take off their helmets while the mechanics work to adjust the suspensions...

Upon resumption, the improvements are mainly in the second half of the table, except for Francesco Bagnaia who jumped on new tires to first position, in 2'02.983.

Coincidence or not, Johann zarco then takes third position, then fabio quartararo of the 2nd.
The Devil must, however, concede this place to Marc Márquez four minutes from the checkered flag.

Enea Bastianini comes between the two men and things remain there, pending qualification.
