Álex Rins had a complicated Saturday at the Austin circuit. The Suzuki driver was in fact forced to go through Q1 after being deprived of the last flying lap during FP3 due to yellow flags. Qualified in seventh position on the grid, he will still try to play spoilsport among the Ducatis in front of him.

We transcribe his entire remarks here.

Álex, you had a good performance in qualifying. How was your day ?
« We actually had a good performance, but we also had a roller coaster ride. We first had to qualify in Q2, because we had bad luck during FP3 with the yellow flags which prevented us from improving, but in any case we did a good job to get this seventh place. It's not really the result we expected, but we have good pace for the race. We are going to give 100% to put a spoke in the wheels of the Ducati. It's not going to be easy, but we're going to try to overtake them quickly. »

You actually have five Ducatis in front of you on the grid, not counting Fabio Quartararo's Yamaha. How do you plan to go about finishing in front?
« It's going to be difficult, because the Ducati riders have the ability to brake very hard, and their bikes are very fast on the straights. »

In the MotoGP Unlimited series we see you complaining about riders who try to take the wheel of their opponents...
« This is unacceptable, purely unacceptable. We are MotoGP riders, and yet those who do this wait even longer than those who are in Moto3. The Race Direction must do something, because that's not how you participate in a GP. I don't know how they can manage do so »
