Austin

Ducati dominated qualifying for this Grand Prix of the Americas, fourth round of the 2022 World Championship, scheduled for this Sunday in Austin. Pole position went to an extraordinary Jorge Martin, who went from Q1 to pole position with panache since he broke the Texan track record owned by Marc Marquez since 2015. For the Spaniard from the Pramac team, this is the eighth front row in MotoGP, and his sixth pole, the second of the season.

In the front row we also find the official Ducati of Jack Miller et Francesco Bagnaia, separated by 3 thousandths and 0,128s respectively. Two other Ducatis on the second row, those of Johann zarco (Pramac Racing) and Enea Bastianini (Gresini), the latter achieving his performance despite a fall.

fabio quartararo, the only competitive Yamaha, limits damage. The reigning champion, who crashed while competing for pole, moved up to the second moto, earning a very valuable sixth place. Third row for the Suzukialex rins et Joan mir and for the Honda of the ghost Marc Marquez, which did not go beyond ninth position, 0,999s from the top. Tenth, eleventh and twelfth position for Takaaki Nakagami (Honda LCR), Luca marini (Mooney VR46 Racing Team) and Pol Espargaro (RepsolHonda).

Disappointment is called Aprilia, who after the victory of the Argentine Grand Prix, is satisfied with 13th and 14th position with Aleix Espargarò which fell in Q1 and Maverick Casa Particular in Viñales. Andrea Dovizioso (Yamaha WithU RNF) will start from the fifth row, 15th time, just in front of the rookie Ducati Marco Bezzecchi (Mooney VR46 Racing Team), Brad Binder (KTM) and the other rookie Fabio Di Giannantonio (Ducati Gresini). Disappointed, Franco Morbidelli did not go beyond the 19th time with the Yamaha factory.
