MotoGP Austin J3, Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha/3) regains color: “sincerely it feels good even if it’s only a 3rd place”

Very hard on the Yamaha project as a whole on Saturday after falling during the Sprint race but still finishing in 19th place, Fabio Quartararo returned to the spotlight with a smile the next day on the same Austin track, thanks to a third place at the end of the Grand Prix of the Americas. A result which perhaps will not convince him that the championship is not yet lost. But at least, before returning to Europe and the deadline in Jerez, it was the one he needed to boost his morale...

At the microphone of Canal +, fabio quartararo reappeared with a smile after a solid Texan race on a Yamaha that he had not eaten the day before: “ It’s good and it feels good but above all we had the speed even from Argentina and we really had difficulty expressing it. We didn't miss him much here. We're really starting to get better but, honestly, it feels good even if it's only 3rd place ". And he adds: “ I feel like we see the potential, it's starting to happen ».

The 2021 World Champion continues: “ It's especially in qualifying that we have a lot of difficulty but we know very well that by making a good start we can achieve a good result. So we will try to continue like this, try to do good qualifying ". The Frenchman remains realistic, however: “ I finished third with two retirements in front of me so I'm happy but we know very well that we will have to find something ».

He finishes : " I don't think too much about the championship and I think it will be interesting for us to do what we have done so far. We started badly in Portimao, we had a very good race in Argentina in the rain, and there a podium even if that's not what I want as a result. But we're climbing the stairs little by little ».
