Hervé Poncharal

Hervé Poncharal celebrated his birthday at the same time as he enjoyed the spectacle of a Grand Prix of the Americas in Austin, of which his colors were not part. The KTMs suffered in Texas, never finding the solution to their problems and it was still only Brad Binder who managed to keep the Mattighofen troops with their heads more or less above water. At Tech3, Raul Fernandez did what he could to keep his foot in the deep end while Remy Gardner was in apnea throughout, still suffering from his grip... Now heading to Europe on a well-known Portimao route of the French team who will want to find their second wind there.

Hervé Poncharal did not achieve the expected results Austin, venue for a Grand Prix of the Americas which marked the fourth round of the MotoGP championship. But he remains a good audience... He says of this escapade in Texas: “ what an incredible MotoGP race here in Austin. I hope the fans who attended the event really enjoyed the show, because it was awesome...It may seem hard to understand that we can be happy, but I am reasonably happy because our two drivers completed the 20 laps ».

« This track on a MotoGP is by far the most physically demanding. Remy, who was unable to train and prepare as he would have liked due to his wrist injury before the start of the season, suffered a lot on Sunday. He arrived in the pit very tired, so I want to thank him for holding on and having a good rookie race in MotoGP ».

Hervé Poncharal: “ now it's time to go home«

« On the other side, Raul Fernandez didn't get a good start and found himself last at the end of the first lap, but he managed to recover some positions. Already in Argentina he has learned a lot, but with Dovizioso and Morbidelli in front of him he continues to learn even more. He had a good race in the end and finished behind Miguel Oliveira ».

« We know this is not enough, but we are here to learn and pass on as much knowledge and feedback as possible to the KTM Factory engineers to accelerate the development of the RC16. This is what we do, so I would like to thank Remy and Raul, as well as the team ».

Hervé Poncharal finished : " Now it's time to go home after a hectic start to the season. Europe will be a little easier and more comfortable, so we're looking forward to FP1 Friday April 22 in Portimao ».
